4.1 Regular Maintenance #
Keep your AquaPump performing optimally:
Strainer Basket Cleaning
- Power off pump and circuit breaker
- Relieve pressure using filter air relief valve
- Open the lid and remove the basket
- Empty debris and rinse with clean water
- Re-lubricate and reinstall the lid and restart the pump
Winterizing (For Cold Climates)
- Power off and open relief valve
- Remove both drain plugs from strainer pot
- Store pump plugs in basket
- Cover motor (do not use plastic wrap)
- In milder climates, run overnight to prevent freezing
Pump Care Tips
- Ensure pump is shaded and well-ventilated
- Keep surrounding area free of dirt and pool chemicals
- Prevent splashes from reaching motor
- Allow motor to dry fully before restarting if flooded
4.2 Common Issues & Fixes #
IPM Module Failure
- Cause: Fast acceleration, poor grounding, or electrical interference
- Fix: Extend the acceleration time, check electrical grounding, reduce interference
Output Current Exceeds Limit
- Cause: Sudden load changes or improper acceleration settings
- Fix: Adjust acceleration/deceleration time; inspect connected load
Input Voltage Too High
- Cause: Unstable power or rapid deceleration
- Fix: Verify input voltage and extend deceleration time if needed
Input Voltage Too Low
- Cause: Undervoltage from the power source
- Fix: Check and stabilize the incoming power supply
Inverter Overload
- Cause: Frequent restarts, low input voltage, or high system load
- Fix: Increase acceleration time, stabilize voltage, or use a larger inverter
Motor Overload
- Cause: Voltage fluctuations or abrupt load changes
- Fix: Confirm proper voltage levels and reduce motor load
Output Phase Loss
- Cause: Wiring issue or unbalanced motor load
- Fix: Inspect all motor wiring and terminal connections
Inverter Overheating
- Cause: Poor ventilation or high ambient temperature
- Fix: Clear air vents, ensure good airflow, reduce environmental heat
Faulty Current Circuit
- Cause: Fault in the current detection or amplifier
- Fix: Contact Illuminex support or a service technician
Display Board Failure
- Cause: Loose cable connection or EEPROM failure
- Fix: Check the connection cable or replace it; contact support if needed
PFC Overcurrent
- Cause: Grid voltage issue or internal circuit failure
- Fix: Verify voltage and contact a technician for professional service
4.3 Resetting the Pump #
To reset after a fault or update:
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn power back on
- Reconnect through the app if needed
- For full factory reset, use the app or onboard control panel option
