Getting Started

1.1 Downloading & Installing the Illuminex App #

The Illuminex App is available for both iOS and Android. Follow the steps below to download and install it:

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Search for “Illuminex Smart App”.
  3. Click Download and install the app.
  4. Open the app and create an account or log in.

1.2 Account Registration & Login #

Creating an account in the Illuminex App is simple and secure. You can register using Google Login, Apple Login, or Email Sign-Up. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Illuminex App and tap Sign Up.
  2. Choose Google, Apple, or Email Sign-Up.
  3. Enter the required information and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. A verification code will be sent to your email or phone number.
  5. Enter the code to complete your registration.
  6. Once verified, go to Account and tap the Settings icon (top right) to edit your preferred language, time zone, measurement units (e.g., Fahrenheit/Celsius, gallons/liters), personal information, account security, device update settings, notifications, review policies, run network diagnostics, and clear cache.

1.3 Connecting the App to WiFi & Bluetooth #

Important: The Illuminex App only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. Make sure your router is set to 2.4GHz before proceeding.

  1. Open the Illuminex App and tap + icon to add a device.
  2. Turn on the robotic pool cleaner, pool lights, pool pump, salt chlorinator, heater, or surface skimmer you want to connect.
  3. Ensure that your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network, as 5GHz networks are not supported.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to pair the device via WiFi or Bluetooth.
  5. If the device does not connect, there is a high chance that the WiFi signal is not strong enough. Even though your cell phone may connect successfully, the device might fail to be added due to weaker reception at its location.
  6. In this case, try moving the device closer to the router for better signal strength OR consider installing a WiFi range extender. Some recommended options include:
    • TP-Link AC1750 WiFi Extender
    • Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Extender
    • Google Nest WiFi Mesh System
    • Eero 6+ Mesh WiFi Extender

1.4 Initial Setup & Device Pairing #

Once connected, you can:

  • Name your device for easy identification (e.g., “Pool Light” or “Pool Pump”).
  • Assign it to a specific room in your home for better organization.
  • Adjust initial settings for optimal use, such as setting power-on behavior and energy-saving modes.
  • Enable notifications for device alerts, including connectivity issues or maintenance reminders.
