AquaCrystal Sand Filter

AquaCrystal sand filters use #20 silica pool filter sand to trap debris.

• Sizes: 19" to 36"

• Filtration: 20–40 microns

• Sand life: 5–7 years

• Best for: Large pools (high flow rates)

1. Mount filter on a level pad

2. Add the correct amount of #20 silica pool filter sand (per model spec)

3. Install the multiport valve

4. Plumb inlet, outlet, and waste lines

5. Backwash for 2–3 minutes before first use to settle sand and clear fines

Backwash when pressure reads 7–10 psi above clean starting pressure (typically every 2–4 weeks):

1. Turn off pump

2. Set multiport valve to "Backwash"

3. Turn pump on for 2–3 minutes (until sight glass runs clear)

4. Turn off pump

5. Set valve to "Rinse" for 30 seconds

6. Return to "Filter" mode

Replace sand every 5–7 years:

1. Drain the filter

2. Open the dome

3. Scoop or vacuum out old sand

4. Add fresh #20 silica pool filter sand

5. Backwash for 3–5 minutes before returning to service

Important: Use only #20 silica pool filter sand. Avoid play sand or construction sand — they will damage the filter.
